About us

The Woodmansterne Operatic & Dramatic Society — known to all as WODS — has been a proud part of the local community for many years. What started as a small group of theatre enthusiasts coming together to put on a show has grown into one of the area’s most loved and respected amateur dramatic societies.

Over the years we have performed everything from classic musicals and operettas to contemporary plays and pantomimes — always to packed houses, always with enormous heart. We perform at St Peter’s Chrich Hall, right here in the heart of the community.

We’re enormously proud of what we’ve built — not just as performers, but as a community of people who genuinely love what they do and love doing it together.

What We Get Up To

Each year WODS produces 3 major productions, typically including a Junior Wods Pantomime, a Spring Musical and an Autumn review. Our productions involve a large cast, a dedicated backstage crew, live music, costumes, sets and everything else that goes into a proper theatrical production.

Beyond the main stage, we hold regular social events, workshops and get-togethers throughout the year — because for us, WODS is as much about the community as it is the curtain call.
